MANAUS – Social networks are a great way to know a little more people’s habits and, this weekend, two pre-candidates to the Government of Amazonas showed their tastes. On one “side” Senator Eduardo Braga (MDB) socialized in the Coco Bambu franchise restaurant, in Manaus, where one of the dishes reaches almost $ 500. On the other side the state governor, Wilson Lima, sat at the table and ate together with people in situations of social vulnerability in the municipality of Autazes (113 kilometers from Manaus).

On Saturday, 18, Braga, who recently became a national subject when he verbally attacked the minister of the Government Secretariat of the Presidency of the Republic, Flávia Arruda, during a phone call, gathered more than 10 people in the restaurant considered one of the most expensive and sophisticated of the capital of Amazonas, which has units in other states of Brazil. Lima, on the other hand, shared a R$1 meal at the inauguration of the popular restaurant Prato Cheio, created to help needy families in the Amazon municipality.

In several photos posted on Instagram, the Amazon senator showed images of the end-of-year get-together with his team at the upscale restaurant. “Today was a day of fraternizing with my team!”, Braga said in the caption of the photo.

Consulting the website of the restaurant, which is considered a reference in seafood dishes, it is possible to see the variety of options available to the customer. One of the options is the “Fisherman’s hammock” dish, described with ingredients such as “lobster, shrimp, mussels, grilled fish and squid with Provençal sauce”, which costs up to R$481. Desserts like the “Giant Brownie” cost up to R$193.

In the stories function, in which images and videos only appear to the public for 24 hours, Braga shared the moment when employees were still displaying Christmas baskets that cost, at least, R$151.

Lunch at “Prato Cheio”

Also on Instagram, Governor Wilson Lima posted photos while having lunch at the “Prato Cheio” restaurant. “Today, in Autazes, we inaugurate the second popular restaurant in the interior of the state. We delivered the first ‘Full Plate’ recently in Manacapuru,” said the governor in the caption of the photos, in which he appears eating alongside his wife.

The “Prato Cheio” is part of a public policy of the state government that brings food and nutritional security to the needy population. At the site, a complete meal consists of rice, beans, flour, noodles, meat and salad, and fruit and dessert options are also offered, all for the symbolic price of R$1.

The preference of the governor Wilson Lima for a more popular and regional meal, which resembles the food of the Amazon people, can also be seen in other publications on social networks. In July of this year, a video in which Wilson Lima teaches the technique of removing the spine of the jaraqui fish, a typical species of the region, was viralized.

“I’ll show you how to take the spine of the jaraqui, how to disassemble”, said the governor while tasting the fish in Miriti Lake, municipality of Manacapuru. The publication was liked and shared by thousands of people.

On December 2, Lima inaugurated the first popular restaurant in the interior of Amazonas in Manacapuru (68 kilometers from Manaus), where he also tried out the menu. In the city, 400 lunches will be served per day, or two thousand per week, according to the state government’s estimates.
