One of the victims said the cell phone had a tracker and then immediately triggered the PM’s car. The team was sent to the site and managed to locate the pair on Paquetá street, in the Vale do Sinai community, in the Manoa neighborhood, located in the north of the capital of Amazonas. At the time of the approach, one of the suspects tried to escape and ended up injuring his foot.

The PM also said that after being injured, the suspect confessed to the crime and gave up the location of his other partner. Afterwards, the victims recognized the pair. With them, two motorcycles with theft restrictions were seized, one black and the other blue, which had been painted white.

The PM team reported that at the time of the invasion one of the suspects was armed, but possibly had disposed of the weaponry during the escape. In a note, the Shopping Sumaúma informed that it is cooperating with the authorities responsible for investigating the facts. It is worth mentioning that there was no gunfire and no ‘dragnet’. Thus, the mall continued its normal operation.
