MANAUS – The councilman of Manaus Amom Mandel (No Party) published a video on their social networks in the afternoon of Monday, 24, to inform that is in the final stages of preparation of the second dossier with 500 pages on public transport services in Manaus. He claims that the complaints deal with resources of millions of reais paid to companies improperly.

To CENARIUM, Amom said that not all companies providing services in the capital that make up the survey yet, but all those that are pointed out with irregularities will be included. “They are not all, but they are already the majority. Both structural (irregularities) and those related to subsidies, irregular transfers, tax evasion, etc.”, he promised.

The councilman says that the dossier has documents, notes, contracts, photos and elements that prove that the system used by manauaras “could be better, but lacks action of the grantor power”.

Amom said that he cannot give more details at the moment and that they have not yet finished the complete preparation, but that they have already investigated the material and that besides the annex of documents there are also reports and denunciations.

“Our second dossier is in the final stages of preparation. So far, irregularities and exaggerations that harm the population and the workers that use and operate an almost chaotic system, which humiliates the people, but is granted millions of reais by the public power, were detected in the survey”, he said.

Preparing the material since October last year, Amom remembered that he intended to launch the document by the end of 2021, but the arrival of new denunciations increased the period. “New denunciations arrived and ended up complementing the dossier”, he said.

“I hope that investigations both at the Federal Police and at the local level will be initiated or complemented with our information”, he concluded.

The report contacted the Union of Road Workers about the impacts and improvements in public transport with the possible allegations through the vice president of the autarchy Josenildo Mossoró, but until the close of this story there was no response.

CPI Transport

At the time, Councilman Rodrigo Guedes asked to be established a Parliamentary Committee of Inquiry (CPI), but 14 signatures of other councilors were required. Until today the CPI has not started. Guedes said that the work to establish the CPI should return with the return of parliamentary activities.

Guedes also confirmed that only William Alemão (Cidadania Party) signed the list. Rodrigo said he offered it to seven other peers, but that all of them refused. Guedes reaffirmed that those interested can still sign.
