MANAUS – “I miss all the affection, slang, smells, colors, flavors, and smiles from the manauaras! On June 17, Friday, we will be together at Studio 5. It will be amazing!”, the declaration is from the singer and composer Nando Reis when announcing a show in Manaus, almost four years after the last presentation in the city.

The event takes place on June 17, at the Studio 5 Convention Center, Japiim neighborhood, South Zone of the capital and is part of the new tour of the artist entitled “Nando Hits”, which began in December last year and is touring Brazil with the poetic magic of the musical work of the long 40-year career of the artist.

In the repertoire of the tour, the artist includes songs like ‘Dois Rios’, partnership with Samuel Rosa and Lô Borges, ‘Onde Você Mora’, partnership with Marisa Monte, ‘Na Estrada’, partnership with Carlinhos Brown and Marisa Monte, and ‘Pra Dizer Adeus’, a classic by Titãs, known in the voice of Paulo Miklos, but which is a partnership between Nando and Tony Belloto.

The setlist also includes Nando’s greatest hits, such as “Pra você guardei o amor”, “N”, “Por onde andei”, “O Segundo Sol”, “Luz dos Olhos”, “Relicário”, “All Star”, and many others.

Defender of the Amazon

Amazon defender, Nando Reis and other artists participated in the manifest in defense of the world’s largest tropical forest: ‘Canção pra Amazônia’. The song was released in 2021 and is part of a Greenpeace campaign.

The lyrics are by Carlos Rennó and the melody was signed by Nando Reis. The objective, according to the singer, is to call attention to the violent and extremely serious destruction of the forest.

“This destruction goes against every modern or sensible thought that exists, even about the production of wealth. The destruction of the Amazon has turned the riches of the forest into a desert, something that will have serious consequences for the world. That is why the only suitable measure is to warn about conservation,” Nando declared at the time.
