MANAUS – The Amazonas, a State of continental measures, has as its main “road” the rivers, through which people and products are transported by boats. On the other hand, the waterway sector is one of the great challenges of the region.

Thinking about the optimization of passengers and cargo logistics, the amazonian startup ‘Navegam’ invests in an electronic tickets selling system. The platform allows ticket commercialization via e-commerce, through sellers and also through registered agencies.

Only in the year 2021, more than 924 thousand people used intercity transport in the Amazon, among them, 601.067 chose to travel by boat, according to the balance sheet of the Regulatory Agency of Delegated and Contracted Public Services of the State of Amazonas (Arsepam).

With investment of R$ 1,5 million from an investment fund, the “Navegam” seeks to expand the company’s operation to other municipalities in the region. According to the startup’s marketing director, Hélio Souza, the goal is to digitalize the river transport.

“Thus, boat trips can be more efficient, since the system allows the vessels to be better used, when taking and bringing of people and cargo, and even optimizing the capacity of use and reducing waste of time, space and fuel”, he says.

In addition to optimizing products and services, the platform also helps in the expansion of quality of life and job offers, added to innovation. “The system created here, in the Amazon, can be used anywhere in the country and the world, demonstrating the strong potential of what is generated by companies in the Manaus Digital Pole”.

Souza also highlights that the investments received should contribute to leverage the results that generate social impact, since the initiatives are improved and increase efficiency in serving the local population. “After all, when we travel through the region, we see the need for work like this, which allows gains for Amazonian society and for all who use this logistics modal”, points out the marketing director.
