MANAUS – On the afternoon of Tuesday, 26, a male body was found in the region of the Rio Negro, in the district of Ariaú, in Iranduba, 27 kilometers from Manaus. At first, according to the community member who had gone out to harvest açaí, it was suspected to be the missing skydiver since the last day 15, Luiz Henrique Cardelli.

The search teams of the Amazon Fire Department (CBMAM) went to the informed place to rescue the body that was in a state of decomposition, in an area of difficult access, located in the mouth of the igapó, in the Paraná of Ariaú, 15 minutes away from the district by boat.

According to Maripá Souza Gomes, 45, resident of Ariaú, the body was wearing dark blue jeans shorts, a black shirt wrapped around his neck and had a tattoo of a tiger on his left leg.

“The body found this Tuesday, in the igapó of the district of Ariaú, had a tattoo of a tiger on the left leg, and the missing skydiver had no tattoo. The information was also confirmed by the skydiver’s ex-wife, Jessica Santos”, said colonel Sulemar Barroso, official of the Capital Fire Department (CBC).

The CENARIUM contacted Leonardo Menezes, friend of Luiz Cardelli, who confirmed that the body found was not the missing lawyer. Also early on Tuesday afternoon, an audio of one of the residents of the Ariaú region circulated on social networks and raised speculation about the skydiver.
