Bolsonaro returns to Manaus for religious event one year after inaugurating wooden bridge in AM’s countryside

MANAUS – With passage through Manaus, Jair Bolsonaro (PL) released schedule this Saturday, 28. The president’s arrival is scheduled for 10:30 am. Still in the morning, the president must fulfill agenda before going to the March for Jesus. The event’s concentration happens at noon, with departure at 3pm, at the Saudade Square, downtown.

The president’s new visit comes a year after the inauguration of the wooden bridge in São Gabriel da Cachoeira, 852 km from the capital, which cost R$255,174.38 – the amount was three times less than what the president spent with his entourage, which was R$711,795.63. The bridge was inaugurated in the indigenous community Balaio and is 18 meters long. At the time, the subject resonated in the media and social networks.

The details of the agenda were revealed on Friday afternoon. After arriving in the capital, Bolsonaro will proceed to an interview on a television station, then go to a reserved lunch at the Amazon Military Command (CMA), located in the West Zone of Manaus. From there, he will proceed to the Teatro Amazonas, where he is scheduled to meet with religious leaders from Amazonas, where the press will not have access.

From the theater, Bolsonaro will move to the Saudade Square, where he will participate from beginning to end of the March for Jesus, which this year is in its 28th edition. The president will follow the entire route of the religious event from the top of an electric trio and will continue to the Sambadrome Convention Center, West-Center Zone, where he will follow the ecumenical service.

From the Sambadrome, the president will go straight to the International Airport, from where he will fly to Brasilia, around 7:30pm.

CENARIUM MAGAZINE talked to pastor Valdiberto Rocha, president of the Order of Evangelical Ministers of Amazonas (Omeam), organizer of the March for Jesus. According to the pastor, the presence of the president was confirmed by the Planalto Palace.

“We made the invitation to President Bolsonaro on May 2. This week, we received the response from the Planalto Palace confirming it,” said the president of Omeam.

Valdiberto Rocha also said, as far as he knows, that the president comes to Manaus, exclusively, to participate in the March for Jesus, not having any other commitment on his agenda, in Manaus, next Saturday, 28.

The Manaus City Hall, through the Municipal Institute of Urban Mobility (IMMU), has set up a traffic and public transport plan due to the 28th edition of the March for Jesus. About 160 traffic agents will be positioned to monitor the flow in the main intersections of the roads included in the route.

Blocked roads from 12 pm to 5 pm

Traffic agents from the Manaus City Hall will monitor and block the following streets: Rua Ferreira Pena between Rua Ramos Ferreira and Avenida Ayrão; between Rua Comendador Clementino and Avenida Constantino Nery, and this, in the stretch between Avenida Ayrão and Avenida Darcy Vargas.

Blocked streets from 2pm to 9pm

After 2pm, the agents will block the following streets: Constantino Nery Avenue, between Darcy Vargas and Torquato Tapajós. Pedro Teixeira Avenue will be blocked in the stretch between Francisco Orellana Street and Djalma Batista Avenue, and Loris Cordovil Avenue between Vivaldo Lima Street and Constantino Nery Avenue.

Vehicles traveling on Leonardo Malcher will not be able to access Constantino Nery and Ferreira Pena. They should follow through Getúlio Vargas and Djalma Batista.

After the March for Jesus goes through Ayrão and access Constantino Nery, the circulation of vehicles will be released on Ferreira Pena to go to Alvaro Maia Avenue.

Constantino Nery will be blocked in the Downtown/Suburbs direction from Álvaro Maia Avenue until the intersection with Desembargador João Machado Avenue, according to the march or public dispersion.

Vehicles traveling on Travessa Arthur Bernardes, coming from the West Zone, will be deviated to the underpass towards Avenida Djalma Batista.

The flow of Pedro Teixeira, neighborhood Suburbs/Downtown direction, will be diverted to Francisco Orellana Street.

Vehicles traveling in the Torquato Tapajós direction to Constantino Nery must follow through Djalma Batista or Mário Ypiranga Avenue.
