MANAUS – The newsroom of CENARIUM MAGAZINE, one step away from the reader. This is the proposal of the editorial line of the Amazon agency that grows more in Brazilian web journalism. Starting this Friday, 23rd, readers will be able to give their opinion, directly on the magazine’s website, about the published articles. The idea is to approach and dialogue with those who are the main reason for CENARIUM’s existence: the public!

To interact, the reader will have a space at the end of each publication on the website, where he/she can leave a critical comment of up to 150 characters and mark what he/she thought of the content divided into three options; great, good or regular. According to journalist Alita Falcão, head of CENARIUM’s editorial office, the proposal comes to further strengthen the journalism exercised by the vehicle.

“We are in a new era in the world of communication. The internet has broken paradigms and brought a new reality to journalism. It is impossible to ignore the power of networks, the power of the virtual world which is increasingly ‘real’ in our lives and professions. Dialoguing with our readers is not an option, it is an obligation!

For Lucyanne Reis, a reader who gets information on topics related to the environment through the articles published by CENARIUM, being able to give her opinion on the material is always good. “Sometimes I have doubts and want to ask about the content to the journalist who wrote the article on a particular topic and now I will be able to do this directly on the magazine’s website”, he said.

Courageous and efficient

For journalist and political scientist Liege Albuquerque, the initiative is “courageous and efficient”. “It is a brave initiative because it is extremely important for journalism, because it becomes a force for those who are writing stories. It’s not a question of ego, but, because you can feel that you are contributing a little brick to society. It is good to know that someone can praise your work, publicly, and follow up or reverberate denunciations that the journalist is making”, she observed.

Still according to Liege, although important, care must be taken. “It is important that the management of the vehicle makes a surgical follow-up to avoid manifestations of anti-Semitism, racism and other ‘isms’ of prejudice. Care must be taken so that ‘haters’ don’t come to attack not the story itself, but the characters in the story. You have to keep an eye on what is published and, in this case, the editor’s role is very important to monitor the manifestations of readers who might damage the journalistic work”, she added.

CEO of CENARIUM MAGAZINE, journalist Paula Litaiff, commented the new feature of the vehicle and classifies the initiative as another channel of proximity and respect for the public of the Cenarium network. “Searching for a closer and closer relationship with our readers and expanding our contact frontiers is a constant need of CENARIUM. Open this line of communication is to demonstrate democratic respect to those who seek quality journalism and nothing is more fundamental to the team of CENARIUM MAGAZINE than the satisfaction of our public, customers and employees”, concluded.
