MANAUS – CENARIUM MAGAZINE participated this Thursday, 17, in a meeting promoted by the Union of Professional Journalists in the State of Amazonas (SJP/AM) to launch the Professional Journalism Seal, scheduled for April 7, Journalists’ Day in Brazil. Besides CENARIUM, the action has as partners sites, portals and news blogs of the State and seeks to firm the commitment of the press in guaranteeing the quality and truthfulness of the information published.
During the meeting, according to the syndicate, doubts about the operationalization of the Quality Seal were removed. For the representatives of the companies and journalism professionals, the implementation of the platform is an important tool to guarantee the professional exercise with quality, ethics and focused on the public interest.
According to the union, new meetings are still to be held until the official day of the launch of the seal, to broaden the participation of the communication companies interested in the search for excellence in the journalism provided to the population.
Quality Journalism
In a time when communication has become diffuse and permeated by fake news, the seal of quality that identifies the practice of professional journalism has been sought after by the press, and the promotion of the campaign intends to make society aware of the importance of giving prestige to this journalism.
The first step of the campaign “É Fato! (It’s Fact!) Professional Journalism with Credibility” campaign was the publication of the quality seal in the communication vehicles to differentiate those that produce information responsibly from those that are focused only on gaining audience through unethical means and without commitment to checking.
