MANAUS – A group of candidates vying for 209 vacancies in the civil police tender of the Amazon for the positions of clerk and investigator wants the governor Wilson Lima and the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV) – organizer of the contest – review the number of candidates eligible to compete in the next steps of the contest.

This is because, according to studies conducted by the Candidates Committee of PC-AM based on the preliminary scores of objective tests, there is risk of vacancies not being filled. According to the announcement of the public tender, are 160 vacancies for the position of investigator and 49 for clerk.

The report by CENARIUM sought the PC-AM and was informed that the demand should be forwarded to the Getúlio Vargas Foundation (FGV). In contact, the FVG did not return until the publication of this story.

To verify the high degree of failures after the objective tests and other phases, the members of the Candidates Committee of PC-AM conducted quantitative research and, using advanced statistics and computer science came to worrisome conclusions.

“There will be corrected only 186 speech tests for the position of clerk and 600 for the investigator (broad competition and candidates PCD’s). After this phase, the candidates will proceed to the medical exams, psychological evaluation and Physical Aptitude Test (TAF), in which the estimated failure rate is 40% to 60%. After all the steps, there is a real possibility that not even half of the final positions offered in the announcement will be filled,” explained one of the representatives of the Candidates Committee of the PC-AM, Camila Balman.

According to Law No. 2.875/04 that establishes the Plan of Positions, Careers and Remuneration (PCCR) of PCAM, the framework of Civil Police positions is composed, among others, by: Delegates (705), Investigators (2,155) and clerks (655). However, according to the payroll for the month of March/2022, available on the Transparency Portal of the Government of Amazonas, only 207 delegates, 390 clerks and 1,211 investigators are active and in office throughout the state.

Data

The data show an immediate deficit of, at least, 498 delegates, 944 investigators and 265 clerks, and in the competition, for ample competition, only 49 vacancies for delegate, 49 vacancies for clerk and 160 for investigator were offered.

The Candidates Committee of the PC-AM contest is meeting with parliamentarians, Civil Police employees and union representatives linked to Public Safety in the Amazon, in an attempt to reach the governor Wilson Lima to present the technical studies and sensitize the governor to authorize the revision in the number of candidates who will proceed to the next stages of the contest.

“We know how inefficient a public contest can be if it doesn’t meet the State’s demand, and that’s what will happen if this contest follows the molds of what was initially foreseen. We want to add up and help the Administration to reinforce the Civil Police in Amazonas. For this, we count on the help of the lawmakers, the PC servers, representatives of the class and, especially, the governor Wilson Lima, so that a fair and efficient number can follow for the next steps of the contest, forming, even a reserve register so that the State doesn’t need to hold a new public contest because in this one the vacancies were not filled”, pointed one of the responsible for the Commission, Camila Balman.
