Manaus – The former federal lawmaker and former vice-governor of Amazonas, Henrique Oliveira, confirmed the pre-candidacy to the State Government on Friday, 1, by Podemos. Oliveira assumes the presidency of the party that was previously headed by state lawmaker Abdala Fraxe.

“I was in Pros, which had an intervention at the national level. There was a change in the state directories and because of the good relations I have as a former federal lawmaker, I used to be a member of PTN, which is the current Podemos, I appealed. Abdala had left, the party was a bit loose here and I got the presidency with the intention of strengthening the party in the next months; and I am a pre-candidate to the state government”, declared Henrique Oliveira to CENARIUM MAGAZINE.

According to the pre-candidate, there is still no date set for the official launch of the pre-candidacy. “My joining Podemos is exactly for the launch of the pre-candidacy to the government. I will hold a meeting with the members and we will schedule a solemnity”, he said.

History

Henrique Oliveira is a journalist and, in 2008, was elected the most voted councilman of Manaus. In 2010, he won a seat in the House of Representatives with more than 86 thousand votes. He has also been a candidate for Manaus City Hall and, in 2014, was elected vice-governor of Amazonas.

Commanded by well-known figures

Podemos has already been led by figures such as Amazonino Mendes and Wilker Barreto. Amazonino has led Podemos since March 20, 2020, when he joined the legend to run for the 2020 election for Manaus City Hall, in which he was defeated. Two years earlier, Mendes was also unsuccessful in the state election and lost to the governor of Amazonas Wilson Lima (PSC).

Before Mendes, who commanded the acronym was the state lawmaker Wilker Barreto, that after disaffiliating from the Podemos, in December last year, the former vice on the plate of Amazonino Mendes exposed a possible ‘split’ between the so far allies.

During a session at the Amazonas Legislative Assembly (Aleam), Barreto said he was not worried about the former governor who lost the elections for the Amazonas State Government in the last elections.

Barreto’s speech was made during a discussion, inside the Legislative House, with lawmaker delegate Pericles. The possible ‘dissatisfaction’ of Wilker, in relation to his ally, was evidenced when Pericles said that “not even Amazonino wanted him around anymore”. In response, Wilker surprised everyone by rebutting, shouting, with the following phrase: “I’m worried about Amazonino, boy!

In the last election, Amazonino had Wilker as his vice presidential candidate, but lost to the current mayor of Manaus. At the time, the indication of Wilker’s name for vice generated discontent in Amazonino, who accepted the double after being imposed by Barreto, president of Podemos at the time.
