MANAUS – In Nova Olinda do Norte, Amazonas countryside, Alueldo Reis and Lene Reis, brothers of the mayor Adenilson Reis (MDB), They did not give in to pressure from the head of the municipal executive and declared vote, on Tuesday, 25, to Governor Wilson Lima (União), candidate for re-election. The mayor is a supporter of the candidate for the Government of Amazonas, Eduardo Braga (MDB). The confirmation of the votes occurred through the social networks of the re-elected state lawmaker Joana Darc (União).

In the caption of the photo posted on the microblog Twitter, next to the brothers Reis, parliamentary reinforced that the two did not give in to “pressure and persecution” imposed by the Chief Executive of the city, located 250 kilometers from Manaus. “Alueldo Reis and Lene Reis chose the best side for our Amazonas”, she said about the photo in which they all appear doing the “44” with their hands.

“The mayor here is pressuring, is persecuting municipal server, the families that do not vote for Eduardo Braga, who vote for Wilson [Lima]. He is doing this and like this, people are denouncing him a lot”, the lawmaker confirmed to AMAZON AGENCY.

Joana was in the city on Tuesday to thank the votes won in the first round of the elections. On her way out of the city, she also reported the persecutions suffered by those who decided not to support Senator Eduardo Braga.

“Firing public servant who supports Wilson [Lima], municipal servant, persecuting the families who declare support. So, it’s very much here, this climate like that. And now, the people from his own family have declared support for the governor”, she said.

The congresswoman also added that the public confirmation of the votes of the mayor’s brothers serves to “show the people not to be afraid”, referring to the mayor’s attitudes in the city. The report asked the mayor Adenilson Reis, via the press office, if he had anything to say about the support or about the accusations of pressure and persecution, but did not get an answer until the publication of this story.

The mayor’s support for Eduardo Braga can be confirmed through the social networks of Adenilson Reis. On Instagram, for example, he shares images and invitations of events in favor of the senator. “I vote 15,” says the caption of a photo with the number of the candidate for the Government of Amazonas.

Mayors abandon Braga

In Amazonas, mayors have already “dropped the hand” of Eduardo Braga and announced support for Wilson Lima. It was the case of Paulino Grana (PSDB) and Regis Nazareth (Republicans), mandataries of the municipalities of Silves and Anori, respectively.

The confirmation was made by the state governor himself, on Instagram, earlier this month. “Welcome to team 44, mayors Paulino and Regis! Let’s work together for the benefit of the people of Silves, Anori and all of Amazonas”, governor Wilson Lima wrote in a post on social media after meeting with the managers.

In the 1st round of elections, governor Wilson Lima won in 49 of the 62 municipalities of Amazonas, including the capital Manaus. In all, the reelection candidate reached 42.82% of the valid votes (819,784 votes). With Silves and Anori, Eduardo Braga accounted for the total of 13 municipalities in which he achieved victory and reached 20.99% of the valid votes (401,817 votes) in the state.
