MANAUS – After the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) confirmed the reelection of the governor of Amazonas, Wilson Lima (Union), he spoke to supporters who were waiting for him at the campaign committee, in a party house in the West Zone of Manaus, on the night of this Sunday, 30. One of the highlights of his speech to the press was the administrative reform, which will be a priority in the new term: “This is a question that will be left for next year”, said Lima.

Wilson Miranda Lima won the election with 56.66% of the valid votes, or 1,004,420 votes. His opponent, Senator Eduardo Braga, of the MDB, received 794,756 votes (43.34%). The result of the polls in the second largest electoral college in the North Region shows that the majority of the Amazonian population approves the current management and the proposals for Wilson’s second term ahead of the state, which has 3.8 million inhabitants and 2.6 million voters, according to TSE data.

“It was the work, the deliveries that we did. I didn’t have the opportunity to govern like the other governors who spent their four years without crises. We faced the biggest pandemic of all times, we faced the biggest flood of all times, we faced political crisis, even so, we kept working. Not even a governor was attacked as much as I was attacked, even so, we kept on making deliveries that were important for the people of Amazonas”, highlighted Lima.

“I continue to be an ally of President Jair Bolsonaro, but I was elected governor of Amazonas, and everyone who is elected by the majority of the population to defend it, is a desire of the people, is to defend the people of Amazonas, and I have no difficulty talking to whoever it is. Everybody knows that I am a governor of dialogue and, mainly, when it comes to defending the interests of the people of Amazonas”, affirmed Lima.

In partnership with the City Hall, Wilson is recovering and paving 10,000 streets in all areas of the city. Still in the infrastructure sector, the reelected governor is building the largest road complex in the capital, with the South and East Rings. The complex has 27 kilometers and will connect the North, East and South zones and increase traffic flow, benefiting residents of these areas and the capital’s industrial hub.
