“It continues, in an uninterrupted manner, employing military jungle combatants from the 16th Jungle Infantry Brigade, headquartered in Tefé-AM, which has deployed means in the Javari region. The 16th Jungle Infantry Brigade has been conducting Search and Rescue operations with approximately 150 (one hundred and fifty) military personnel specialized in jungle operations who know the terrain where the searches take place,” informs an excerpt from the note.

According to the document, the Army’s 4th Aviation Battalion (4° BAvEx) will also support the search for the couple with the deployment of Federal Police agents. The BWC also highlighted the existence of the Military Hospital in the city of Tabatinga-AM, as well as two Special Border Platoons (PEF) in the regions of Palmeiras do Javari and Estirão do Equador, available if necessary.
