MANAUS – Even with the decision of the Federal Court for immediate action to be taken to stop the various irregularities in the anti-democratic act that happens since November 2nd in front of the Amazon Military Command (CMA), in the West zone of Manaus, this holiday of the Proclamation of the Republic, 15, what was seen was a real ‘festival’ of disrespect to the lawsuit.

Barbecues obstructing the pavements, cars parked in double row, rubbish accumulated on public roads and even ‘wall’ sound that played praises and nationalist anthems. The reportage of AMAZON AGENCY was on site and caught the illegalities and was harassed by the protesters who tried to prevent the registration of the press.

On one occasion, the report tried to register the presence of a man dressed as a prison inmate with a mask of the president-elected Lula who was being led out of the manifesto by supporters. From the beginning, in Bolsonarist groups the rule is not to involve politicians in the acts, to reduce the chance of appearing as a request for a coup, considered a crime, according to the Constitution.

In another moment, the photographer of AMAZON AGENCY was approached by two men, who were filming the approach with mobile phones, they asked not to be recorded. At the scene, the men were accompanied by other women and some children, one of whom was still in her lap, visibly a newborn baby. The team did not register the presence of the Guardianship Council.

Around 2:30pm, the movement was already intense and only two military police officers were following the demonstration, at least ten meters away from the CMA gates. When asked by reporters about reinforcements, the police informed that at the moment there were only four officers on duty.

Hours later, motorbike policemen, two agents of the Amazonas State Department of Traffic (Detran) and military police from the Battalion of Traffic Policing (BPTran) arrived on the scene. The demonstration by far-right groups is motivated by the defeat of current president Jair Bolsonaro (PL). They do not accept the result of the polls, which elected Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT), with 50.90% of the valid votes (60,345,99).

Judicial decision

This holiday, the federal judge of Amazonas Jaiza Maria Pinto Fraxe granted injunction partially acceding to the request of the Federal Public Ministry (MPF) and imposed rules to the protesters, among them, not to make apology for crimes, not to practice noise pollution, not to generate disturbances in traffic, not to use people in development (children and adolescents) as members of the demonstration and not to practice crimes of theft of electricity.

The judge said, still, that will carry out inspection in loco to verify that the measures determined were fulfilled by the Union, State government and Manaus Prefecture. The daily fine, for each, is R$ 10 thousand. “It is expressly stated that I will conduct judicial inspections on call”, she says.
