MANAUS – After the Government of Amazonas fines those responsible for the Gusttavo Lima show in Manaus, on Wednesday, 8, the Public Prosecutor’s Office of the State (MP-AM) evaluates entering a request, in court, to stop the show of comedian and youtuber Whindersson Nunes, scheduled to happen this Saturday, 11, in the Arena da Amazonia, in the Midwest zone of the Amazon capital. The expectation is that the event with Whindersson will gather more than 30 thousand people. The analysis of restricting shows of the youtuber occurred after the discovery of the variant of the new coronavirus, the Omicron, a new strain, whose lethality has no information, but it is already proven that the variant has a high degree of contamination.

As a preventive measure, the Intersectorial Committee to Combat Covid in Amazonas defined, yesterday, 8, the number of up to 3 thousand participants per show in the State, but Whindersson Nunes’ program was scheduled more than a month ago.

“We verified that there was omission of health security in the previous show (of singer Gusttavo Lima) and we can not take another risk. There is a new variant that is going around the world and we have no control over it, but we have the power to prevent new negligence,” a source from the MP-AM explained to CENARIUM.

On Wednesday, 8, the governor of Amazonas, Wilson Lima (PSC), He came to public information that the company responsible, Events Factory, would be punished for the lack of health care with the participants with the singer Gusttavo Lima event that takes place last day 4 December.

According to him, the company failed to comply with Covid-19 protocols. Images registered in the show the lack of social distancing and absence of the use of masks by the population.

Wilson Lima also informed that the event that will take place in the Arena da Amazônia, with comedian Whindersson Nunes, is being monitored to ensure security measures, being subject to a fine, if it happens the non-compliance with health protocols.  

Covid-19 under control

The Health Surveillance Foundation of Amazonas Dr. Rosemary Costa Pinto (FVS-RCP) reaffirmed yesterday that the cases of Covid-19 in the Amazon are under control.  

According to FVS, the possible change of the Covid-19 score in Amazonas from low risk (yellow phase) to moderate risk (orange phase) is related to the increase of other flu cases, not linked to the new coronavirus.

The hospital occupancy rate for Covid-19, in clinical beds, is considered low, 16.05%, according to FVS/RCP. The risk calculation for pandemic is done based on the evolution of diseases inserted in the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) group, which among them is the Covid-19.

Today, Amazonas has 70% of the “vaccineable population” immunized with up to the second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine. Currently, the Government of Amazonas is conducting a new megavaccination campaign against the new coronavirus with people over 12 years old.

Whindersson Nunes

The dramatic situation of Manaus hospitals, which ran out of oxygen to serve patients due to the increase in coronavirus cases in January this year, alarmed Whindersson Nunes, one of the first artists at a national level to campaign for the city.

He performed two moments of donations. First, he started with 20 cylinders and then reached up to 217 oxygen cylinders to serve patients in the public health network earlier this year.

“Providing 20 50-liter cylinders of oxygen to distribute to the most urgent units in Manaus. Hello, my artist friends. When it is time for a show, it is so good when the public receives us with affection, isn’t it? Let’s give something back?”.

The digital influencer shared, at the time, on his platforms the information on how it was possible to make donations to Manaus. The campaign S.O.S AM – A Saúde Precisa da Nossa Ajuda (Health Needs Our Help) promoted by him mobilized a large number of members of the artistic class in Brazil.
