BOA VISTA (RR) – A complaint submitted to AMAZON AGENCY shows the neglect of the governor of Roraima, Antonio Denarium (Progressistas) with the Dandãezinho Exhibition Park, on BR-174, Monte Cristo, rural area of Boa Vista. The place is abandoned, full of garbage and overgrown with weeds. The last time the space received the public was in 2017.

The last event received by the exhibition park was the Agribusiness Fair Roraima AgroShow promoted by the Federation of Agriculture and Livestock of the State of Roraima (Faerr). The AMAZON AGENCY reporter contacted the Secretariat of Communication, but until the publication of this story there was no return.

The man who passed on the complaint did not want to have his name disclosed for fear of retaliation and told the report that the space is abandoned by the current management since 2019.

“It has no maintenance, structure falling apart, lots of garbage, weeds. Waste of public money and devalued patrimony of the people. Four years in office and the governor has never done anything for Expoferr,” said the young man.

Self benefit

The report presented the photos of the exhibition park to state lawmaker Dhiego Coelho (Solidariedade). For the parliamentarian, the governor’s interest is to benefit himself since he has a dedicated company and wants to do away with the state’s small cattle producers.

“He has been saying that he is the agribusiness governor, cattle governor, agriculture governor, soy governor, and what has he done in the last three years? We have the space where Expoferr is held, the traditional fair in our state. He simply did not move a straw to keep the structure functioning 100%. So, everything was deteriorating. Today, for you to put the exhibition park to work, you have to make a new exhibition park, it’s no longer a reform, because everything is over, everything has been destroyed”, said the lawmaker.

And he concluded saying that “He [the governor] has no interest in small cattle farmers, those who only have 20 or 30 head of cattle, he wants to buy the cattle from these small ones so that everything is centralized in his hand and he can monopolize the price of meat here in Roraima”, said the parliamentarian.

The exposition

Expoferr was a free event and began to be held in 1991. On site, families could visit exhibitions of animals, agricultural products and attend shows by local and national artists. The fair had returned in 2017 after an eight-year hiatus, but was abandoned by current governor Antônio Denarium.
