MANAUS – The expenses with Payment Card of the Federal Government (CPGF), in Amazonas, during Bolsonaro’s management, add up to R$ 284,689.96 thousand in bakeries, hotels and rental of equipment for events. The data were released first hand by Fiquem Sabendo, data agency specializing in access to public information.

AMAZON AGENCY had already revealed, through an Access to Information request, the spending of R$ 3,529,519.37 million on ten trips to the Amazon, in the period between 2019 and 2022, of former president Jair Bolsonaro and his entourage.

The list published by the federal government, on Wednesday, 11, brings an extract of the expenses from 2003, the first year of Lula’s government, until 2022, the last year of Bolsonaro’s government, which are available to the public through this link. See the complete spreadsheet at the end of the text.

Of the ten trips listed to Amazonas by the General Secretariat of the Presidency, two had no official record of the president in the capital. The others were made until June 2022, before the election period. Bolsonaro was once again in Amazonas in September of the same year, during campaigning, but none of the expenses in Amazonas in 2022 appear in the new spreadsheet.

‘Emergency’ expenses

Purchases on the corporate card comply with specific emergency rules, and the mechanism should normally be used for urgent purchases, which cannot depend on the time needed to conduct a bidding process. However, in Amazonas, Bolsonaro had “emergency” purchases in bakeries, tent rentals, and luxury accommodations.

AMAZON AGENCY crossed the data obtained and published in the November 2022 report with the new ‘Fiquem Sabendo’ listing. The added values do not coincide with the total amount sent to the report by SGP, because the overall expense may include per diems, tickets, and expenses not listed in the Corporate Card.

On the first trip to the state after being elected, on July 25, 2019, then-President Bolsonaro attended a meeting with politicians about the Manaus Free Trade Zone and held the delivery of certificates of the International Mathematics Olympiad without Borders for students of a military college.
