MANAUS – After the decision of the federal judge of the 1st Court, Jaíza Fraxe, on Tuesday, 15, which prohibits protesters camped in front of the Military Command of the Amazon (CMA), located at Avenida Coronel Teixeira, West Zone of Manaus, ask for “military intervention” – which in practice means demanding that democracy is supplanted by a military dictatorship, the speech has become “SOS Armed Forces”.

On posters and in the voices of the extremists, the new clothes are a euphemistic resource to circumvent the order issued by the federal magistrate. According to Sergio Freire, a doctor of linguistics, pressure provokes such metamorphosis: “The discourse finds ways to say what it cannot say in a certain way”, he observed. For the specialist, the apparent change has the practical effect of maintaining the message, despite the pressure. “This is an enunciative strategy in order to escape what has been determined by Justice”.

For Freire, the legal context is within the scope of interpretation. “It is up to us, now, to wait, to wait and see if the federal justice, which is who judges, if it (the Justice) will understand this paraphrase as something that contemplates what was decided or not”, pondered the linguist. Also according to Sergio Freire, in face of what has been happening in front of the CMA, the approach of the speech is only one of the points to be inspected. “There is the issue of the guardianship council, the theft of energy, in short, a series of things that need to be fulfilled”, he summarized.

Not fooling

For political scientist Paulo Queiroz, the extremists are being guided. “They are using gimmicks. A way to ensnare the system. They are modifying the structure contained in the ban, but, employing the same meaning and objective. Only that doesn’t deceive, because Justice doesn’t look with those eyes. Justice looks at the judicial order, it doesn’t work with modifications of criteria, particularities of the impediment, of the prohibition. This has no future”, he evaluated.

Critic, Paulo Queiroz calls attention to the character of the “SOS Armed Forces”. “They are trying to deceive Justice with these scams and with that they lose all legitimacy of the protest”, he attested. Another detail that draws the political scientist’s attention is the wearing down of national symbols. “The symbols of the homeland are being used in vain, that is, for nothing. They are depreciating the flag, the colours, the shirt… Everything losing value in the eyes of society“, he lamented.

“These dribbles that the extreme right is trying to give in Justice reinforces the character of the shirt of the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF), in an ironic way, of course”, he poked. “I’m glad God is good to us and is sending us the World Cup so we can take this stigma off the national jersey”, celebrated Paulo Queiroz. “Even if they (the extremists) juggle, this is no guarantee that they will be outside what the Justice has determined”, concluded the linguist Sergio Freire.

According to the director of operations of Immu, Stanley Ventilari, who was on site, drivers who refuse to remove the vehicles will have their cars seized and will be fined. Until the end of the inspection, it was still possible to notice the presence of some cars parked irregularly, including the car where the energy generator is fixed, which according to the protesters, is used to power the tents.

Monitoring the movement

On Wednesday, 16, security officers of the Military Police (PM), Federal Police (PF), Municipal Institute of Urban Mobility (Immu), Amazon Fire Department and guardians were in the camp set up by right-wing extremists in front of the Amazon Military Command (CMA), West Zone of Manaus.

The agents were looking for the irregularities described in the injunction granted on the holiday of the Proclamation of the Republic, 15, among them, the theft of energy, the permanence of children on the street, even having a home, and irregular parking. Drivers who kept cars parked in the bike lanes had to remove their vehicles.
