The Accident

The tragedy that resulted in death occurred amidst the strong windstorm that hit Manaus and the surroundings in the municipality of Iranduba (28 kilometers from the capital), on the last day 15, when at least 14 skydivers made jumps at the Aeroclube of Amazonas, located in the Flores neighborhood, South-Central Zone of the metropolis.

Among the 14 skydivers, four were blown away by the wind, but only two of them managed to land precariously in the neighborhood Compensa, in Manaus. Ana Carolina fell into the water, between the Journalist Phelippe Daou Bridge and the district of Cacau Pirêra, in Iranduba. So far, only the young woman’s body was found last Saturday morning, 16, in Cacau Pirêra.

An inquiry was set up to investigate the possible negligence of the skydivers’ jump, which is being investigated by the investigation team of the 12th Integrated Police District (DIP) of Manaus. In addition, a crisis committee was installed by the Amazonas Secretary of Public Security (SSP-AM) to follow the case.

The search for Cardelli has about 100 people, including agents from the SSP-AM, Fire Department, Integrated Department of Air Operations (Dioa) and Executive Assistant Secretary of Operations (Seaop), Military Police of Amazonas (PM-AM), Civil Police of Amazonas (PC-AM), and the Brazilian Navy.
